Rick Sirockman began his electrical career in 1975 and spent the next 40 years in the pulp and paper industry as a controls specialist with dual tickets in electrical and instrumentation and his last 18 years as an E&I Manager. During his career he worked on low and high voltage systems to 15kV, PLC’s and associated controls, burner management systems, ECCS, instrumentation specific equipment, DCS equipment, programming and hardware as well as performing root cause analysis and failure analysis.
He also created a corporation wide system of Loop & DCS performance Health consisting of a group of processes that automatically collected data on various components: loop variables, DCS operator manipulations and alarms, control valve variables and then analyzed the data, ranking performances and flagging opportunities via a multitude of levels of reporting.
