Introduction

This One-day course is designed to help those understand the construction and maintenance requirements for substation batteries. Anyone directly involved in maintaining or those requiring an understanding of the various tests and or analyzing test results will gain a better understanding of best maintenance practices as required by industry accepted standards.

- Canadian Standards Association: CSA Z463- Standard for Maintenance of Electrical Systems

- Canadian Standards Association: CSA Z462- Standard for Electrical Safety.

- National Electrical Testing Association (NETA): ANSI/NETA 2019 Standard for Maintenance Testing Specification

- IEEE Standards 450, 1106 & 1188 Standards for Battery Maintenance

This program examines the electrical hazards found in industry and stresses the importance of the individual employee proactively recognizing hazards and applying safe work practices with the goal of zero incidents.
