CSA Z462 is a new electrical standard sweeping across Canada that affects all personnel who work on, around or near any type of electrically energized equipment. The safe work practices mandated by Z462 are designed to save lives.
This is a one-day course that is designed for personnel working around or turning on and off electrical equipment, locking out machines for maintenance as part of their daily duties.
New standards set out by the Canadian Electrical Safety Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act & Regulations refer to CSA Z462 for protection of employees when work on, around or near any type of electrically energized equipment.
When completed, the employee will be certified as qualified under CSA Z462-24, able to recognize and avoid electrical hazards, understand the requirements for arc flash safety and shock. Safely and confidently switch breakers, disconnects and Motor controls on and off.
