This customized 5-day hands-on training program certifies that your electrical workers are qualified to safely and effectively work on motor control circuits and variable frequency drive (VFD) installations. Designed for technicians, maintenance personnel, and engineers, the course is 90% practical and provides the knowledge and skills required to troubleshoot motors, control systems, and program a wide range of VFDs.

Training takes place in our VFD Motor Control, Hydraulics and Pneumatics Lab 3.1, our full-size, highway-ready trailer that has been custom built for this program and can be brought directly to your facility. Inside, your team will test and diagnose a multitude of three-phase motors with internal faults using industry-grade instruments including IR, DW, WR, impedance, and surge testers, and will troubleshoot faulted panels and MCC systems.

Four custom-designed hydraulic systems are integrated into our lab, allowing participants to program constant and variable torque loads, measure pressure and flow, and intentionally overload or cavitate pumps for diagnostic learning.

Your workers will program VFD’s from ABB, Allen-Bradley, Cutler-Hammer, Danfoss, Eaton, Mitsubishi, Sinamics, Telemecanique and Toshiba and analyze VFD’s from Delta, Hitachi, Honeywell, Omron, Teco-Westinghouse, Trane, Weg and Yaskawa. 4 custom designed hydraulic systems are built into our lab to teach your workers how to program constant and variable torque loads with the capability to measure pressure, flow, overload each system and cavitate the pumps.

By physically working on this wide array of equipment, students not only become familiar with each system but also gain the confidence to open any VFD manual, set parameters, and diagnose problems independently. Your company's specific systems can also be integrated into the course at no extra cost, creating a truly customized training experience.

Special attention is provided to the deadliness of VFD’s and how to work with them safely.
